Children + Young People

Empowering young people to fulfil their potential

1 in 4 children in Kensington + Chelsea live in poverty

Bi-Borough Inclusion Strategy, 2021

We support local partners working to transform young lives, especially those affected by gangs, crime, violence, poor physical and mental health, disability, language barriers, lack of green spaces and poor air quality.  This year we have supported over 1800 children and young people.

Over the next 12 months, we aim to reach more of the borough’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people, improving their lives and life chances.

  • £5,000 could support a residential week in a countryside activity centre for 30 children who have limited access to outdoor spaces

  • £10,000 could support high quality music education sessions for socially excluded 4-6 year olds for six months
  • £17,000 could support delivery of a 6 week intensive development programme for 12 young people at high risk of gang involvement and youth violence
  • £20,000 could support a series of 8 workshops with 20 at risk young people, improving their creative and employment skills
