Voluntary Sector Support Fund 2027-30

Working with the community to design, develop and decide small grants funding

The K+C Foundation is pleased to continue our partnership with Kensington and Chelsea Council (RBKC) to manage the VSSF (Voluntary Sector Support Fund) Small Grants Fund.  The purpose of the VSSF 2027–30 is to fund voluntary organisations to help reduce deprivation in Kensington and Chelsea, whilst working with the Council to ease pressure on local services.

The fund will offer voluntary and community sector organisations grants towards core costs. These grants will be available to smaller non-profit organisations (registered charities and constituted groups such as CICs, with a maximum annual income of £250,000 in the previous financial year) and will be for £25,000 per year (2027-2030). There is £150,000 per year available. The Expression of Interest form and criteria will be available in September 2026.

About us
The K+C Foundation is an independent charity which supports local projects addressing the significant inequalities in the borough. To achieve this, we work with local community stakeholders and residents to ensure that they have a voice in how funds are invested.

For this fund we will be allocating grants using a participatory grant-making approach. A panel of residents with lived experience of the issues the fund seeks to address (the K+C Community Panel) will be recruited to design the application process, set the criteria, assess the projects and ultimately decide which projects are funded. All panellists will receive training around grant-making.

Timings
The application process will open in September 2026, with the intervening period being used to recruit and train our K+C Community Panel. We expect decisions to be announced in December 2026 and the grant period will begin on 1st April 2027.
